Current Music - The The - Time Bomb
I had dinner with my parents and sister tonight to celebrate my b'day
(which was two days ago) and we started talking about my initial move
to Atlanta all the way back in nine teez...

I got held up at and robbed at gunpoint last Friday while leaving work,
which was interesting to say the least. I for one DID NOT see my life
flash before my eyes, or have a sudden invitation for communion with
the holy tri, not did I feel any anger at the situation. In fact the
only thought through my mind during that fifteen second ordeal was -
man, there's so much good trance out there that still needs to be
listened to. I basically provided the police a description of the
person, we ran some camera tapes and that was it. I was ready to let it
lie, but then my phone started ringing due to the ever efficient gossip
line and I was awake till 4am.
And this affected me how?

Current Mood - Exhausted
Current Music - WRAS (88.5)
Love the love of Jehovah,
Don't ask me to judge a wet t-shirt
contest after an eight hour champagne blitz even if they have been
liberally soaked in 60 proof concoctions. However, debates on ancient
Mayan calenders and vahinas are always welcome! If you don't know what
a vahina is, books can be recommended although this one's in French and
not published in these united states so good luck on that also. It's
cheering to have base boards (finally) and closet doors (again)
although in true home ownership mathematica even this "minor" outflow
is enough to limit flame grilled challupas and pepsi products at the
local Bell for at least a year. And now, although the hours are still
in their teens, this finely tuned machine needs to sleep or it will
start breaking down. Apologies for canceling dinner plans twice in a
row. Get a clue maybe???
Good time for all as Rufus would say. |

The Value Village on Memorial Dr (Belvedere Plaza) just rocks if you're
looking for one thing and one good thing only. Otherwise, I'm afraid
it's a little run down even compared to the norm. The clothes just
aren't dirty - they stink and you're bound to hit at least one kid in
the head if you take a cart through there... or hurt yourself on
something that looks like a waffle maker but is actually a cross bow in
disguise. Even the e-bayers seem to avoid it because they're scared
their cars will get brokin into, or perhaps because they're some things
you just can't LIE about having come out of your grandfathers closets
...but there are deals available.
Here's a few examples:
I picked up up a pair of CV speakers (upon the prodding on a friend)
for $40. Since I couldn't test them or anything else of an electrical
nature and staff was confused with questions like "is there a power
outlet close by?" it was a risky buy but now those beauties are the
foundation of my sound system not to mention they're almost as old as
me. Come to think about it, I think I've rearranged my whole room
around them. I'll match them against ANY space age plastic wrap with
800 movable parts digitally controlled 18 channel virtual sound speaker
set that also doubles as an mp3 player on the market today.
A few days ago I found a great set of lamps - they're iron with that
nice rusted look and metal sheets that have been hammered into shades
so they're not quite circular but still comforting. Sara has already
threatened to steal them and I told her to just use the spare key I
gave her and avoid smashing windows! They were a steal at $20 for the
pair (because who wants metal shades nowadays said our darling sales
guy) and they've added a little focus to the overall dark/black theme
in my house. They also fit (thankfully) within their respective feng
shui limits although I did have to move my TV two feet to
counter potential imbalance and wouldn't tell my neighboor why. Come to
think about it I even denied moving it so she really left confused.
Also worth mentioning is the Salvation Army on East College presently
featuring great night stands and the Last Chance on Scott Blvd which
has an old Victorola radio/cabinet for sale along with a bunch of
Titanic replica ash trays. You can also stock up on Indian groceries
next door but stay away from their rusks - they crumble too easily.
Feel free to share your awesome non clothing thrift deals!

Current Mood - Tired
Current Music - None - I have no stereo right now
I'm
in the new place with the conclusion that it's easier to move across
the country than across the street. In the former I would have packed a
truck full of shit and not worried about it, in my case, it was one box
at a time in what seemed a never ending repitition. Thanks to the
Masters who showed up to help! I got my gas turned on yesterday so at
least I can cook food and take a hot shower! yayayay... the w.end was
just horrible. Two days of cold showers and bread and butter for
dinner. I had to pack my office up in an hour and now I can't find my
camera or my cell phone charger:) Changed my locks in the rain
yesterday which was wonderful also.
Stuck most of my artwork up
today so the place is looking not just functional but cozy. There's two
prints I'm kind of stressing over and other than that I declare the
downstairs done. This place is not FENG SHUI friendly at least in terms
of my major directions and elements...hmm... apparently I'm sleeping in
a corner highly suggestive of death...
Andre is still at the old
place. I want the place perfect before I bring the boy over. Hopefully
it will make him pee less as he "remarks" his territory. Thanks to my
friend colby for that suggestion! He's already been leaving "turd"
gifts on Sara's pillow so I need to get him and get him fast.
This
post coming to to live due to some serious wifi hi jacking. The way I
look at it - if people won't change their default settings or use
encryption then I deserve a piece of their bandwidth! So it's slow but
at least I have a connection till Comcast shows up next week.
Will be blowing leaves in the yard waaaayyyy before leaving for work tomorrow.
Much fun...

Current Mood - indescribable
Curent Music - Kraftwerk - Radioactivitat
Yesterday,
In the dumpster behind my mom's shop we discovered a
dead body. Male, caucasoid as they would say in arcame anthropological
terms, early 40's. No visible bullet wounds and just a little blood...
He had probably been there for 12 hours since those things are emptied
every Monday night. Kinda freaky eh. He looked so peaceful. Not big,
not small, not well dressed or badly dressed. Just dead. kinda crazy eh.
So
after the usual hoopla with the cops, filing papers etc... I came home
and had a major puking session followed by what felt like a two hour
shower and numerous mutterings until I turned my phone off. But it was
funny because I honestly think I puked out the last two years of my
life.
Yes, the crazy two years of my life when I hated myself,
didn't leave my house and became to dependant on others perception of
me is finally over! I honestly feel now, that I'm running out of time
and have no more time for BS in my life. People, place or things, I'm
just up to here with all of it because no matter how bad it got, that
guy had it worse so I have no excuses anymore. And the last thing I can
deal with right now are desperate people trying to justify their fucked
up lives. And I feel that there are people I should thank but they
already know who they are and for all of you I am thankful.
Good
news is, I'm moving into a new place. My mom is "renting" me her
townhouse for a very sweet subsidized price and I've spent the last
week putting in hardwoods, painting etc... My back hurts, my knees hurt
but I've become pretty damm good at laying down boards and painting
fences! For the first time in two years - my books and music are
finally getting unpacked and ready for public display. Final move is
Saturday after I buy items such as toothpaste, towels, paper plates,
mouth wash and light bulbs... you know the essentials.
So I'm chill except for the fact that I've not smoked a ciggie in a day and a half. Just don't feel like it anymore.
good night. |

Current Mood - Accomplished
Current Music - The Damm Peaches Album (Track 7)
$12 (two bottles) well spent with my sister tonight! 1500 mls between
siblings... and the promise of continued conversations w/out issues of
cost to benefit ratios, over analysis of "The Protocols Of The Elders
Of Zion" or the ability to always be mendicant towards the word
"asinine" for those allergic to dictionaries...
I know you will do GREAT in you PHD w/ or w/out peyote!
Rock
on sis - leave the confused ones behind in the dust... but do offer
them a smile in condolence or indigenous pluralism will sound a little
shallow!
wurd....
