Pixie Hunt is a mobile location based game from Microsoft making a debut at next weeks Where 2.0 conference . Various teams armed with a Cingular phone, a GPS puck and a Flickr account will compete. As the term "scavenger hunt" imples, the goal is to photograph certain tasks such as " a man in a scarf" and upload the pictures to Flickr along with the software's geo tagging functionality. The team with the hightest score wins, explains the O'Reilly Radar. |

Incorporating Apple's technolgy and developed under a generous BSD licence, the browser opens up many venues for developes small and large alike to hop on board. World Cup 2006 in Germany this summer will feaure mobizines by Refresh Mobile . Subscribers in the UK and other countries will be able to contribute latest news images and commentary directly from their phones while receiving content back in the form of special mobile zines or "mobizines." For a small fee, the phones will download the latest editions and subscribers will be able to interact with content as it arrives. All input will be generated via mobile devices making it a "first" for mobile blogging and sports. |

Helio charges ahead with MySpace and Facebook access on it's trendy new phones, Mobispine allows MMS and SMS like posting with mimimal costs while new products are solving J2ME limitations which hinder the "killer" phone app. Yes, says MIT Technology Review - it's a great time to be a mobile blogger. As more people obtain multimedia capable phones, it's only natural to edit and upload digital information directly from them, bypassing the computer and phone lines in the process. |

Saw this on Textually.org and it's posted here for viewing pleasure only! Phonies are cell phone mascots created by Frank Skyes. Essentially a stuffed animal glued to your phone, it helped his sister distinguish her "real" mobile from all the toys her kids spread across the house. People commented on the new accessory so the "phonie" was born! Textually filed this under "silly" and we don't even have a category for it so enjoy! A phone accessory for ultra trendy bloggers perhaps. |

Nokia released a new S60 podcasting application a few days ago but upon trial it seems the application is more of an aggregator than an actual encoder and uploader says Engadget. Still, others see it as a step in the right direction. Early views indicate the ability to preview and bookmark podcasts and share them over bluetooth. |
