Three new malicious programs are hitting certain mobile phones, anti-virus companies have warned. The Trojan horses, or programs that are disguised as legitimate applications, spread via Bluetooth or multimedia messages and can affect phones running the Symbian operating system. |

As reported on MEX, .MOBI has been around for almost six months as the new suffix for mobile/WAP sites. The Register reported then that the new domain names would start selling in early to mid 2006. We're curious to see how fast this will take off given the fact that Tim Berners Lee ( so called creator of the world wide web) published a paper last year against the addition of the .mobi TLD raising issues of fairness, device independance and loss of web functionality. |

SEATTLE, Wash December 27, 2005 Whether it's downloading a game or ringtone, or browsing news and information, M:Metrics, the mobile market authority, found that Sanyo SCP-8200 and Motorola RAZR owners are out-consuming subscribers of all other devices. The portion of owners of these devices that are used to access mobile applications or downloaded mobile content is more than double that of the market overall. |

Fon calls itself a movement. It has a manifesto and uses words like solidarity and revolution. The design of Fon's Web site is reminiscent of Soviet propaganda art. Fon comes complete with its own lingo, with participants known as Foneros, Bills, Linuses and Aliens. Yet behind the brotherly-love imagery are plans for making money, as well as a few question marks.
