Nokia NSeries Studio , a new online movie community where people can upload and showcase digital content, premiered the short film shot by Gary Oldman with his N93 today. Titled "Donut" the two minute long clip featuring a round reflection in rippling water and a lonesone melody highlights the N93's DVD quality movie recording ability as well as its strength as a mobile production device. Nokia hopes this film will encourage others to record live moments of thier lives - with their N devices of course:) |

Newly published research from M:Metrics and Lyra Advisory Services show that camera phones are fast becoming the most popular image capturing devices in the world. No surprise then that photo messaging usage is also increasing. Texting still rules by alomost a 3x factor but the gap is closing fast when you consider that cameraphones have been widely available for about five years. With over 50% of market share in Europe and over 850 million units shipped this year phone makers are enjoying a windfall. |

Nice article for those looking to get into moblogging. With all the choices out there, it's easy to get a trifle overwhelmed. Should one go with a PDA or mobile? What about Symbian vs the Palm OS? This is a well thought out list of the minimim requirements for a good mobile blogging device? Reading it over a few times I agreed with most of it except unlike the author, I am more partial to the Symbian OS. |

Some interesting figures on India's mobile subscribers market. Q2 2006 finds just over 105 million cellphone users compared to 89 million last quarter. That's a growth of 17.8 percent. Bhariti-Airtel remains the largest provider with 29.4% market share with BSNL Cell One and Hutch following. At the end of Q2-2006, total Indian GSM subscriber base stands at 78,484,849(June 30th 2006) compared to 69,064,945 (March 31st 2006) a quarter ago. Bharti-Airtel now leads the pack of GSM operators with a market-share of 29.4% and 23,072,579 subscribers. |

Japan doesn't just lead the world in wireless internet usage according to IDG , but in 2005, the number of people accessing the internet via cellphones EXCEEDED those using a traditional PC. Around 69.2 million users accessed the internet wirelessly in 2005 with 21 million only using a phone for mobile access. Japan has actually topped this list for over five years. |

Some sobering figures from Jupiter Research saying that interest in premium mobile services such as streaming video and music is not growing as fast as the industry expects. The report, ‘European Mobile Services Consumer Survey, 2006’, found that just 32% of European mobile users are willing to pay for mobile content and services beyond basic messaging. |

A new sutdy by the Center for for Marketing Research at UMASS looks at the time needed to build and maintain a successful blog. Dr. Nora Barnes compiled data from 74 established bloggers and came up with some interesting results. No surprise here, but a successful blog takes time - much more than the daily average of one hour reported by over 65% of responders. |

According to M:Metrics, the British are more likely to use social networking services than the Germans or the Americans by almost a factor of two. Teens 13-17 were still leading content creation across the surveyed regions with males making up almost two thirds (60%) of all users. See more below. |

Krusells top ten selling phones and pda's for April are little changed from March. The Qtek 9100 I-mate tops Palms Treo 650 for this months honors, a swap from last month. Positions three to six are still held by QTek with HP and Blackberry bringing up the rear. The Motorola RaZr V3/V3i/V3c, Sony Ericson D750/W800i and Motorola SLVR continue to lead in phones with Nokia's at the bottom. Let's see how the upcoming Sony K800i upsets this order. |
