Essentially a stuffed animal glued to your phone, it helped his sister distinguish her "real" mobile from all the toys her kids spread across the house.  People commented on the new accessory so the "phonie" was born! Textually filed this under "silly" and we don't even have a category for it so enjoy! A phone accessory for ultra trendy bloggers perhaps.

Will so-called 'citizen journalism' turn out to be a global phenomenon or will it only flourish in certain countries? This issue was raised at the We Media Conference in London which honed in on Asia, where citizen media is flourishing, sometimes under restrictive regimes. But although the public perception of bloggers in China, for instance, are of lone voices under the jack-boot of a totalitarian regime, it seemed the dominant consumption of online media there is for entertainment, not politics.

Although mobile blogging or moblogging has been introduced in the past by local operators with little success, signs are pointing to its resuscitation with the launching of multimedia phones with blogging capabilities in the market. A prime example is Nokia's recent partnership with Flickr, integrating photo blogging capabilities within the popular Lifeblog sofware for N-series devices.

Following hot on the heels of the acclaimed N91, Nokia brings out the N93. With a 3.2 mega pixel camera, a 30fps camcorder with TV and Video playback, flexible unfold and snap design  this mobile  often described as a "camcorder on a phone" should not just please gadget heads and photo blogers alike, it may also help Nokia retain its lead in the mobile device market.

Nokia released a new S60 podcasting application a few days ago but upon trial it seems the application is more of an aggregator than an actual encoder and uploader says Engadget.  Still, others see it as a step in the right direction. Early views indicate the ability to preview and bookmark podcasts and share them over bluetooth.

Late for your movie? Wishing your friend a hapy birthday? or how about just checking the latest stock quotes? The list of potential SMS's from ones car especially when caught in traffic is endless. And yet some if not most of us have expressed frustration at swerving drivers captivated more by their mobile than the road ahead. In Malaysia at least such activity can result in a fine and even jail time.

Indian technology and news portal Rediff.com has launched a mobile version of its popular site given the growing importance of the blog and mobile phone as communication and expression tools. The Hindu reports on the evolution of this tool and some of its hoped uses including realtime reporting and commentary on events, personal blogs and interaction on current stories as well as a a personalized web presence for this community's 30 million plus subscriber base.

Krusell the Swedish company specializing in cases and carying accessories for mobile devices has published its monthly report for top mobile phones, pda's and smartphones based on it's sales volume for the period in question. In PDA's Palm is back in the lead thanks to incredible sales for the Treo 700 line but the QTEK line still retains an impressive four out of the top five slots - little change from the month before.For phones, the " Motorola RaZr V3/V3i/V3c has been a regular entry on Krusell's top-ten list since January 2005 and now, 15 months later, it finally climbed the top spot," comments Ulf Sandberg, Managing Director at Krusell Internatinal."
