3, the UK's first video mobile network, today announced the first
mobile blogging service. Over 3 million customers of 3 can now instantly
share pictures or video clips captured on their video mobile via the
web.
My
Gallery adds a new dimension to the 'blogging' phenomenon and to the
appeal of video mobile services like multi-media messaging. The innovative
service, integrating 3G technology and web blogging, instantly publishes
pictures or videos sent from a video mobile to a customer's unique website.
Customers can choose to share their images with friends and family 'by
invitation only' on a private website or show them off to a global audience
on a public website.
"Video
mobile technology is all about immediacy, whether it's downloading the
latest music video on the move or being the first to share the breaking
news from Big Brother with your friends. With My Gallery, you can share
your antics straight away with your friends and family without being
tied to a PC,' said Graeme Oxby, Marketing Director of 3.
3
customers can also add pictures from their PC, manage content and invite
friends to visit. Both public and private My Gallery sites are fully
interactive allowing visitors to 'blog' their own comments. To set up
a My Gallery site, customers simply send a picture or video message
to "3333", charged at a standard rate, they then receive a
password via SMS to manage their blog site.
"3's
My Gallery is set to transform blogging from a 'geeky' hobby to a mainstream
communication method. The immediacy of this type of web publishing means
that people can comment instantly as it happens, on the move" said
David Springall, CTO YoSpace.
